Once described as 'the singer with a voice like velvet', singer/songwriter June Hayes (June Pitman in everyday life) has been entertaining audiences in small group and big band ensembles for over thirty-five years. Supported by some of Aotearoa New Zealand's finest jazz and contemporary musicians performing together as The June Hayes Experience Band, chances are you'll find June and her band performing at festivals, concerts, jazz clubs, music venues, weddings and private functions.

An extraordinary concert that drew one of the largest audiences ever.

ALBUMS
To Whom It May Concern (2001):  This debut album led to a feature performance at the 2022 Brecon International Jazz Festival accompanied by Brit musicians Andy Kleindert (bassist for London's Ronnie Scott's), Martin Drew (drummer for Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson), and kiwi pianist/arranger Barry Clewett.

June Hayes - Journey for the return home (2013): An album featuring original tracks composed by June and Billy Karaitiana, with powerful lyrics written by June.

Whenua, Mārama, Aroha (2021): 7 years in the making, June's EP was released globally online.  This stunning collection of original compositions features lyrics written from the heart, laid comfortably across beautiful sound tracks collaboratively created and produced with Mike McCarthy of Manuka Studios, Auckland.

WAIATA (SONGS) FOR CHILDREN
Since 2016 June has written, recorded and produced soundtracks for six childrens books with music including recorded voice for Joy Cowley's kiwiana rewrite of the familiar lullaby Hush Little Baby, published under the title Hush a kiwi lullaby (Scholastic NZ - 2016).

June's childrens music is recorded in Te Reo Māori and English :  Tāwhirimatea, a song for Matariki (2017), Kia ora! You can be a Kiwi too (2018),My Kiwi Gumboots (2019),Kia Kaha! Together standing strong(2020), There's a Bear in the window (2021), and the soon to be released 'My Family Tree, My Whanāu and Me (releasing 1st September 2024).
